Spiced Treacle Traybake

A single slice 


This was baked on the same day as the mince pies, also from Mary Berry's Christmas cookbook. This is a cake that just smells like Christmas to me - with mixed spice, nutmeg and cinnamon as well as black treacle.

The top of the traybake was icing with a couple of teaspoons of cinnamon in to continue the spices going through the traybake.

This cake also keeps really well - I'm still eating it a week later, and keeping it in a airtight container has keep it very moist and fresh!

Would highly recommend this - think gingerbread in a traybake form!
