Dark Chocolate and Almond Cookies

Amongst the baked goods made by the rest of the family! 

These cookies are from Lily Vanilli's cookbook, and she dubbed them 'Biscuit Brownies'. They certainly have that chewy and slightly gooey texture inside, which went down well with my family! I made these as my contribution for a family get together - as you can see from the photo above, there was plenty to go around as my whole family enjoys baking, especially for a good occasion! 

The cookies were easy to make, and the flaked almonds on top added a good decorative touch, adding some visual variety and taking the whole bake up a notch!
